Polyflor Commercial ESD/Conductive & Anti Static Flooring
Polyflor was founded in 1915 and is now a major manufacturer of commercial floor coverings.
Polyflor is based in Manchester and is a quality-driven organisation, with manufacturing processes and systems ISO 9001 accredited. Polyflor is totally committed to reducing the environmental impact of their operations, and also conforms to ISO 14001.
What is ESD/Conductive & Anti-Static Flooring?
Both these floorcoverings will prevent a person from building up a charge as they walk across the floor so they do not get a shock when they touch something that conducts electricity.
The difference between ESD/Conductive & Anti-static flooring is that the top layer of an anti-static floor has a coating that dissipates static across its surface, so you never build up enough charge to get a shock. ESD/Conductive flooring is a much more robust solution because it is actually earthed, so gives a much higher level of protection than anti-static matting.
What types of environments require this type of floorcovering?
ESD/Conductive or Anti-Static flooring is often used in manufacturing, repairing, servicing, handling environments or in areas that use equipment that is susceptible to damage from electro-static discharge, such as in the manufacture of components for the electronics industry, aviation, automotive, IT, medial, oil and gas and telecoms.
ESD/Conductive & Anti-Static Flooring by Polyflor
Polyflor produces specialist hardwearing SD & EC flooring for ESD critical locations (healthcare, pharmaceuticals, electronics and manufacturing).
Polyfor ESD flooring collection comprises of 5 flooring solutions, each with properties designed to fulfil the needs of these industry sectors.
- Polyflor SD, Finesse SD and Palettone SD – Anti-Static Commercial Flooring
Engineered for use where static control is required, but the resistance level of the floor does not need to be as low as that provided by a conductive floor. This flooring combats electrostatic discharge at source by facilitating a uniform flow of static electricity directly to ground point. This ESD floorcovering is a homogeneous vinyl flooring manufactured in Europe and achieves A+ BRE rating. 100% recyclable and contains 25% recycled material. This flooring is ideal for use in telecoms installations, computer rooms and healthcare facilities such as scanner rooms, x-ray suites and operating theatres.

Available in sheet format, OHMega EC is available in 5 contemporary but practical shades with a non-directional design. This ESD flooring is recommended for use in electronics manufacturing, laboratories and cleanrooms. It is also suited to healthcare facilities, including operating theatres, intensive-care units and radiology departments.
